Man. United survives a big comeback to qualify for consecutive FA Cup finals.
In what sport journalist, Luke Edwards called the “most humiliating victory seen in a long while”, Manchester United survived a thrilling comeback against second division side, Coventry to qualify for the FA Cup finals. Erik ten Hag’s men started the game perfectly, seemingly wrapping the match up with a 3-0 lead with less than an hour to play, things went south very quickly. Coventry’s attackers, Ellis Simms and Callum O’Hare scored two goals within 10 minutes to mount huge pressure on United and just like against Liverpool and Chelsea, United conceded another late penalty which Wright converted perfectly to send the game to overtime. Subsequently, ten Hag’s men secured a 4-2 win in the penalty shootout to send them to the finals where they face Manchester City again.
