The party seeks to renew governance and restore trust in the political future.

A new political party has surfaced in response to the increasing dissatisfaction with the existing political system and the economic difficulties many Nigerians face. The Allied Conservative Congress (ACC) has been inaugurated in Abuja, positioning itself as an innovative alternative dedicated to tackling the country’s urgent issues. With a vision based on conservative principles, the party seeks to revitalise governance and rebuild trust in Nigeria’s political future. During its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal, the ACC’s National Secretary, presented the group’s plans, emphasising its dedication to tackling regional concerns as the 2027 elections approach.

He remarked that the party’s objective is to restore National Security and stimulate the Economy and fairness by leaning into conservative principles, thus providing citizens with a major change from the existing government. Members of the ACC voiced their dissatisfaction regarding the current political system, which they described as heavily influenced by ineffective progressive ideals. They claimed this situation has resulted in widespread insecurity, poverty, and a sense of aimlessness, increasing citizens’ push for meaningful reform. According to them, the rise of their party is a direct reaction to the leadership’s failures in tackling the nation’s complex challenges.

INEC urged registering ACC to drive governance, justice, and equity.

Furthermore, the ACC aims to restore the foundational values of the First Republic, which they assert were established on loyalty to the country, ethical conduct, and respect for legal authority. They stress that these ideals are crucial for the advancement of the nation. However, their approach is a dedication to prioritising the common good rather than political agendas, striving to rebuild trust in leadership by focusing on the people’s concerns and perspectives. The movement also underscored the lack of trust in the legal system, referencing many alleged injustices that have undermined public trust.

Moreover, they assert that reforming the Judiciary is crucial for maintaining democracy and promoting economic progress, as a robust legal structure encourages both domestic and foreign investments by ensuring fairness and responsibility. Alhaji Mohammed Lawal stressed that the ACC is gathering support across various political affiliations and working towards formal registration as a political party with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He noted that the party’s foundation is rooted in the quest for good governance, justice, and equity, currently lacking in the nation’s leadership.

They vow to challenge APC, PDP, and LP with fresh ideas and commitment.

According to the party’s leaders, the primary political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP), have not fulfilled their commitments, resulting in a sense of disappointment among the people due to their cyclical methods of governance. In contrast, they seek to introduce fresh ideas while maintaining national pride. They feel that the moment has arrived for a democratic system that encourages participation, in which the public’s votes truly matter, and their opinions influence the country’s direction.

To tackle economic challenges, the ACC aimed to implement innovative approaches to alleviate poverty, stimulate job growth, and draw in foreign investments. They believe the existing government has run out of viable options, resulting in an unstable economy. Nevertheless, they intend to present their proposals at the appropriate moment. The call for judicial reform was emphasised as a cornerstone of their agenda. According to the party, restoring trust in the judiciary is critical for encouraging an environment conducive to Economic Growth and social stability. A transparent and effective judicial system is vital for justice and creating an investment-friendly environment that supports economic development.

During the NEC meeting, participants showcased their loyalty to the party’s principles by endorsing a Code of Conduct and an Oath of Allegiance, highlighting their dedication to the party’s objectives. This act represents the movement’s determination to establish a fresh direction for Nigeria. The formation of the new party represents more than just the birth of another political entity; it embodies an increasing wave of dissatisfaction among people with their existing conditions. By taking on traditional parties, they aim to enhance political rivalry and promote fresh policy approaches, ensuring that governance adapts to the requirements of ordinary citizens.
